Jake works on the shallow-water profiler project. Before joining the OOI RSN program, he worked for three years as a mechanical engineer for Manson Construction Co. in Jacksonville, FL, where he performed research, design, and installation of large-scale mechanical projects that improved and supported equipment used in offshore and underwater environments. One such project included designing, developing, and installing a 3000-horsepower portable booster pump package onboard a 300-foot vessel. Prior to that he conducted research and development for the first-generation underwater turbine designed to harness energy from Gulf Stream currents at Florida Atlantic University. He also worked for seven years as an electrician at Maltby’s Electric, where he installed, maintained, and repaired electrical circuits, systems, appliances, and facilities.

Jake received his AA from Palm Beach Community College, and his BS in Ocean Engineering from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. He is also a certified NAUI scuba diver.
