Shahpour Ashaari

OOI Operations and Maintenance Manager (Leg 1)

Shahpour Ashaari joined the Consortium for Ocean Leadership in June 2011 as Operations and Maintenance Manager for the Ocean Observatories Initiative. In his most recent role as the Postal Executive with the US Postal Service, Shahpour had management responsibility for the Software Development Division at Postal Service’s Engineering Center. He managed the software engineering functions, application development, and operation and maintenance activities for automated processing equipment. In prior years, Shahpour held hardware/software design, systems engineering and senior program management positions, which involved managing major development and deployment of mail processing equipment for automation programs.

Shahpour holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and an advance degree in Computer Science Engineering from George Washington University. Shahpour and his wife Fleur reside in Bethesda with their son and daughter.
