Martha James
Undergraduate Student, UW (Leg 2)
I am entering my senior year in the School of Oceanography at University of Washington where I am complementing my oceanography major with minors in geology and marine biology. I came to UW from Port Angeles, Washington where I grew up on the water and developed my passion for studying the oceans. I participated in the Enlighten ’10 Cruise last summer and am delighted to be able to participate in the groundbreaking science of the OOI and RSN projects once again. In particular, I am interested in the geology and biology of hydrothermal systems, as well as the underwater vehicles use to study them.
