Faculty, OSU (Leg 1)
I am a marine biogeochemist, studying chemical processes and fluxes at hydrothermal vents and cold seeps for more than 30 years. During the late '90s, I was part of the international team that discovered solid methane hydrates on the seafloor at "the second accretionary ridge of the Cascadia convergent margin" (now named Hydrate Ridge). Currently, I am the deputy program manager for the Endurance Array coastal node OOI sites, which will be deployed by the Coastal Global Scale Nodes Implementing Organization. Working closely with RSN, the Enlighten cruise will allow us to focus on surveying the outer shelf sites of Endurance WA and OR lines.
