Cody Youngbull

Cody Youngbull is an experimental physicist working on deep ocean robotic systems and sensors. Currently a research professor in the Center for Biosignatures Discovery Automation at the Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University, he received his bachelor’s degree in Physics from The Colorado College and his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Washington in 2007. Cody’s diverse research projects have ranged from studying starquakes at Los Alamos National Laboratory to cellular automata simulation at The Santa Fe Institute. Cody’s expertise is on the development and characterization of ultrafast laser generated devices and nonlinear optical materials.
