Segment 5 Installation Completed
Sunday, July 24, 2011
We spent the morning laying the last portion of the segment 5 cable, followed by 2kms of ground rope and finally the anchor. By 3pm we had hit another milestone: Segment 5 was installed! We are now on our way back to the cable repair site to bury the 2km or so of cable still exposed on the seabed, with the help of the ROV. It will be a 9-hour transit. When that work is complete, we will head to shore to help out divers with burial operations at the end of the HDD conduits.
