Tim McGinnis's main interest and expertise are in deep ocean engineering and equipment design. For over 25 years, Tim has been involved with a variety of towed and bottom-landing system development projects and at-sea operations for mapping, imaging, and sampling the seafloor in water depths to 5000+ meters. Tim was the System Engineer for the MARS Power System and is currently working on the OOI  RSN system design and on several water-column mooring and profiler systems for observatories. Mr. McGinnis joined APL-UW in 2001
