From Cecile Durand on the RSN cable route survey cruise

Aboard the Mt. Mitchell, the engineer can watch cable pay out via a video camera. At the end of the cable is the AMS60 towfish, an instrument  that collects subbottom and sidescan sonar data. For best results, the towfish must "fly" about 80m off the seabed, and this requires the constant attention of the engineer who controls the towfish remotely.
