Plastics in the Oceans

Prior to joining the UW OOI team as a project scientist, Giora Proskurowski worked with the Sea Education Association and studied plastics in the Pacific. Proskurowski discusses the results of a paper he co-authored: Data collected from just the surface of the water commonly underestimates the total amount of plastic in the water by an average factor of 2.5.
