Chris Hoyt joined the OOI Regional Scale Nodes program in January 2011 and is a Field Operations Manager at the Pacific City shore station. Prior to joining the OOI RSN team, he spent 18 years working on global undersea cable networks for the telecommunications industry, primarily with AT&T and Tyco Submarine Systems. His activities included Commissioning & Acceptance Testing, Installation Engineering & Management, Restoration Planning & Administration, and Operations & Maintenance. Chris is thrilled to contribute to the deployment and operation of the OOI RSN undersea cabled observatory, a system that will significantly boost our knowledge of the ocean and benefit many generations to come.
