Inferno Vent at Axial
Inferno Vent is a black smoker located in the ASHES hydrothermal field at Axial Volcano. This video provides a brief overview of one face of this vent, and then two close ups of the organisms living on the surface of this sulfide chimney. Inferno is targeted to be instrumented with several OOI-RSN core sensors measuring the temperature and chemistry of the 600°F vent fluid.
